Cooking Classes
Cookery classes are available at the Farmhouse for small groups of 6 to 8 people, for a range of activities, including sourdough bread making, cheesemaking, and fresh pasta making. Or book a day-long country cooking experience and long lunch with a group of friends.
Functions & Events
Book a group function for a special event, lunch, or dinner. Our seasonal set menus can be tailored to suit your requirements. Dining options include inside spaces for small formal dinners (minimum 8 people), or verandah and garden for larger groups and more casual meals, depending on the weather and season.
Autumn at the Farmhouse.
So the days are a little cooler, the wood stove is going again and leaves are falling in the garden. The vegie patch across the road has suffered from the summer heat with limited water and time spent maintaining it. We are picking a few useful things though - pomegranates, finger limes, figs, tomatoes, zucchinis, rockmelons, and the hardy as ever kale.
We are finding our place best suits small groups of friends, work colleagues or family who appreciate a simple casual country style setting as a place to meet and relax.
We have a new booking system available through our website. We ask that you use it if possible to make bookings. It should make it easier to find available dates for the different things we offer, from cooking classes to morning tea, lunch or dinner. For any queries feel free to call as well. We are moving to only having one group at a time here for meals, with a minimum number 8 people required for most lunches and dinners. Morning teas can be booked for smaller numbers.
We are planning to have one advertised date per month where we are available for bookings of two or more. We trialled this for Valentine’s day, which was quite popular and a success, with tables for two set on the veranda. Keep a lookout on Instagram for info on such events - the next one planned is for a Mother’s Day lunch available for bookings for two or more.
For those interested in cooking classes, you are welcome to gather a small group of friends and suggest a date, or join an advertised class.

This was a really special afternoon, and not just because we spent it eating and drinking wine in the sun with the fam, but because the very existence of this place, especially so close to home, opens up a world of possibilities. Carroll Gap Farmhouse is rooted in tradition, but paves the way for a more diverse and interesting dining scene that we really don't see a lot of in Australia.

Wonderful hosts and a beautiful property :) We had an amazing time enjoying delicious food and a taste of farm life at Carroll gap and we will definitely be passing through again! Thanks to Jan our bellies were always full with fresh bread, cheese and other delights, while Bob gave us some good insights into rural living and farming. We'll be seeing you again 😊

Absolutely charming setting in a colonial era ex-schoolhouse, surrounded by beautiful trees and gardens. Everything is homemade in traditional style and the whole house feels like it has been transported instantly from the Victorian era. Jan is a delightful host and her food is exceptional.
